Free Tools That Actually Work, Made by One Engineer in Dubai.
What We Are
TechTools365 is a small portfolio of free, no-signup web tools built and maintained by Durga Prasad, a software engineer based in Dubai. Three live tools, with two more in development:
- PennyMath — financial calculators (SIP, EMI, FIRE, tax-regime, Dubai rental yield, salary structuring) tuned for Indian and UAE residents. Open it →
- ToolJury — head-to-head SaaS comparisons for VPN, web hosting, and email marketing. We pick winners and explain why. Open it →
- WanderWise — multi-passport visa checker covering 199 destinations and 7 residence-permit types. The only checker on the open web that handles documents in combination. Open it →
Each subdomain is its own static site — pages are pre-built, no servers run user data, no databases store your inputs. The whole thing fits comfortably in Cloudflare's free tier, which is part of the point: zero infrastructure cost means zero pressure to gate features behind subscriptions.
Why This Exists
Most web tools that pretend to be free are actually email-walled — you give them your address and they spam you forever. The rest are full of intrusive ads, upsell pop-ups, or scraped affiliate filler. We wanted tools that just worked, with accuracy taken seriously, that we'd be willing to use ourselves.
WanderWise exists because every other visa checker assumes you have a single passport and zero residence permits. That's not how modern travel works — Indian residents in the UAE, Filipinos in Schengen countries, Bangladeshis with valid US visas, Brits with EU permits all have combinations that unlock additional countries. No public tool models this; we built one.
PennyMath exists because Indian salary calculators routinely lie about take-home pay (tax-regime selection alone moves the answer by ₹2 lakh+ a year), and Dubai rental-yield calculators float random "average" numbers without telling you which community they're for. Specific math beats averages.
ToolJury exists because every "best VPN" list is a thinly-veiled affiliate page that ranks the highest commission first and pretends to have tested the products. We disclose affiliate relationships, write actual head-to-head comparisons (not listicles), and pick winners instead of hedging.
How We Make Money
Currently, two revenue streams:
- Affiliate commissions from select partners (NordVPN and Proton at the moment), via the Impact affiliate network. We earn a percentage of each subscription that someone signs up for after clicking one of our affiliate links. You pay the same price you would have paid otherwise — the merchant absorbs the commission as part of their marketing budget.
- Display advertising via Google AdSense (in approval). Standard banner ads on content pages, never on the calculator/checker tool surfaces themselves.
We do not accept paid product placement. We do not accept "guest posts" with embedded backlinks. We do not write fake reviews. We do not sell user data, because we don't collect it.
How We Test and Rank
Methodology varies by category, but the structure is consistent:
- Pricing is pulled directly from each merchant's published rate card on the date stamped on the comparison. We re-verify quarterly and re-write entire comparisons when major product changes happen (audits, breaches, price hikes, feature redesigns).
- Specs (server counts, country coverage, feature presence) come from the merchant's documentation, cross-checked against our own tests where applicable.
- Independent benchmarks (speed tests, audits, breach history) come from named third parties — AV-TEST, PCMag, Cure53, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. We cite the source.
- Editorial judgement is the final layer — when two products are close on specs, we explain which use case favours which and pick a default winner for "most users."
We've published our full methodology as a blog post if you want the longer version, including the bias-audit process we run on our own content quarterly.
Who's Behind It
Durga Prasad — Indian national, UAE resident, ten years in software. The site is run by one person; every calculator's math, every visa-data record, and every comparison's content is reviewed by hand. If you spot inaccuracies, email us and we'll fix them.
Editorial decisions are made by one human. AI tools (Claude, mostly) are used for research and drafting, but final word counts, claims, and rankings are reviewed and edited by hand. We use the AI to be faster, not to skip the editorial step.
What We Don't Do
- No "top 10" listicles where every product is praised equally — we pick winners.
- No sponsored rankings.
- No fake reviews. No fake user testimonials.
- No claims we can't back up with a cited source.
- No email capture, no newsletter, no signup walls, no "premium tier."
- No trackers we don't disclose. (See our privacy policy.)
Roadmap
Two more tools queued for 2026:
- SalaryAtlas (Q3 2026) — salary and cost-of-living comparisons across 500+ cities, focused on the corridors that actually matter for the audience we have (India ↔ UAE ↔ US ↔ EU ↔ Singapore).
- InsureCompare (Q4 2026) — UAE health insurance and credit-card comparisons with real benefit math instead of marketing copy.
